Raku-fired ceramics

Birds
I had a very happy childhood; my dad was a keen environmentalist and I spent much of my time in the countryside by the sea or in the forests observing wildlife and especially birds. Some of these are on my ETSY shop

Bears
I dedicate these photos to the 'Bear Man', a very interesting customer with a passion for polar bears, whom I have met several times at the Oxford Art and Craft Markets. Some of them are on my ETSY shop

Fish
The Raku fish are presented on metal stands so that they look like they are swimming in the air.

Hippo
My inspiration for this Hippo is the little turquoise faience hippopotamus from ancient Egypt which is on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Horses
I always wanted to make horses, they are so graceful. They are on my ETSY shop

Sheep
My sheep are wondering how they got there and what is happening. Some of them are in my ETSY shop

Tortoise
I try to make my tortoises look happy and they're often laughing. I use a copper-based glaze, the reduction process in the sawdust box generates an array of colours which are different every time. Some of them are in my ETSY shop
